New Art Prints by Ise Ananphada and Nikita Kaun – On Sale Info

New Art Prints by Ise Ananphada and Nikita Kaun – On Sale Info

After an amazing 2016, Thai illustrator Ise Ananphada is planning on taking things to the next level in 2017.  We at FAMP Art are massive fans of her original artwork and are honored to release one of her most simple, yet visually striking illustrations to kick off the new year.

The piece is titled Desire and it’s a beautifully haunting image that manages to catch your gaze and NEVER lets it go. Desire is one of a handful of personal projects that Ise has published over the years and we couldn’t be more excited to bring a very limited release to you.

Additionally, last year, we teamed up with Arcadium Gallery to showcase the work of Nikita Kaun.  We each had a selection of old and new art from the talented Russian artist with one of those newly released pieces being Young and Tragic.  Some of the posters from that sold out run were held back for us and now we’re releasing it alongside Ise’s prints.

Both prints will go on sale Tuesday, January 17th at 12pm EST via the FAMP Art website (www.FAMPArt.com).

The Magnificent Seven by Chris Skinner – On Sale Info

The Magnificent Seven by Chris Skinner – On Sale Info

A favorite among westerns, John Sturges’ The Magnificent Seven is one of the few re-imagined films that has managed to stand the test of time.  With an ensemble cast featuring the likes of Steve McQueen, Yul Brynner, Charles Bronson, and James Coburn, it’s no wonder why the film holds a special place in the hearts of those who love the westerns of yesteryear.

To coincide with the recent release of Antoine Fuqua’s remake of the same name, we will be releasing a new, officially licensed, limited edition screen print for the 1960 classic, The Magnificent Seven, by the talented artist Chris Skinner.

Chris’ beautifully rendered poster is an eight color screen print that will be printed on Madero Beach Speckletone paper, giving the entire poster a true western vibe.  The poster is a landscape style print that focuses on the exciting climax of the film.  The combination of its painted look, blended typography, and dynamic action make it a truly excellent and unique movie poster for the film and a must-have for any fan of the genre.

As a bonus, we are releasing a limited edition character handbill of Steve McQueen’s Vin Tanner character from the film, which is officially licensed by the Steve McQueen Estate.   Steve McQueen was one of the real highlights of The Magnificent Seven and we thought a character handbill would be the perfect complement to the ensemble based poster.

Both the poster and handbill will go on sale Wednesday, October 5th at 12pm EST via the FAMP Art website (www.FAMPArt.com).  Full details about the poster and handbill, including the reveals, can be found below:

‘Melt My Heart’ by Gabriel Picolo on Sale Info

‘Melt My Heart’ by Gabriel Picolo on Sale Info

Last year, we were excited to announce our exclusive partnership with artist Gabriel Picolo through the release of his officially licensed Trollhunter print.  Since then, Gabriel has gone on to create a stunning set of work that has garnered a lot of praise among his fans.  To this date, he has yet to make his personal art available to the public but, this year, all that will change.

As a thank you for all the support, we have decided to release an open edition of his first piece in the Icarus and the Sun series, Melt My Heart.  It’s one our personal favorites and one of the most requested pieces Gabriel has made to date.  If you haven’t been following this series, check out his tumblr page which shows them all off. They’re pretty great and could easily work as a short romantic comic.  If you want to see more of his work, follow him on Facebook or check out his Instagram.

Melt My Heart will be a 10”x10” archival giclee print on Somerset Velvet fine art paper and will cost $25.  The print will go on sale April 7th at 12pm EST via the FAMP Art website and will ship worldwide.

FAMP Art Presents: The Labours of Hercules – Full Line-up and Show Details Announced

FAMP Art Presents: The Labours of Hercules – Full Line-up and Show Details Announced

Labours of Hercules show card 2

13 Artists. 12 Labours. 1 Hercules.

On December 12, 2015, FAMP Art will be hosting its debut art show titled The Labours of Hercules. This show marks our first foray into the gallery space and we are looking to make a splash in a legendary way.

Mythology is one of the most fascinating aspects of ancient Greek culture and the Heroic age, specifically, is responsible for the stories about some of the most well-known figures in history, in particular, Heracles, or, more popularly known by his Roman name, Hercules.

With a desire to curate a unique show that would allow for fun artistic freedom and a break from the standard pop-culture art show, we decided to continue our mythological streak, which started with DZO’s ‘Dragon’ release, and focus on the stories that made Hercules such a legend. 12 artists were selected and assigned one of Hercules’ labours that they could interpret in their own way. They could focus on the labour itself, the interaction between Hercules and the labour, or focus on the aftermath. A 13th artist was then selected to illustrate a piece focusing on the man himself, Hercules. The show will include a variety of screen printed pieces, a few giclee prints and couple of originals from artists all around the world.

The event will take place on Dec 12th at Bottleneck Gallery, located at 60 Broadway, Brooklyn, NY 11249, with doors opening at 7pm and at 9:00. The gallery is located in Williamsburg and is accessible by car, bus and subway.

The show is free to attend so be sure to bring some friends There will be free beer, wine and other beverages for those in attendance. As a bonus, we will also be giving out a free print out by artist Glyn Smyth to the first 20 people in line. You can join the Facebook event page here to stay up to date on what will be released at the show.  Pieces will start being unveiled the week of November 30th.

All art that isn’t sold at the gallery will be put online Monday, December 14th and will go on sale at 12pm Est. Prints will ship worldwide.

Below is the full line-up of artists who have graciously contributed to the show along with the respective labours they were assigned.  Click their names to check out more of their amazing work.

‘Snowpiercer’ by JC Richard Close-up Shots and Shipping Update

‘Snowpiercer’ by JC Richard Close-up Shots and Shipping Update

We were pretty excited to finally announce the officially licensed release of well-known pop-culture artist JC Richard’s take on Bong Joon-Ho’s visionary film, Snowpiercer, earlier this week.  It’s a print that has been in the pipeline for a very long time but we’re finally glad to unveil it to the public.

Under license from Radius-TWC, the sister label of The Weinstein Co, JC’s piece is a beautiful 24”x36” seven color screen print with two metallic inks all over the sacred engine.  It’s an instance where metallic ink is actually used on something that’s supposed to be metallic.  The poster has an edition of 195 pieces and costs $50.

FAMP_jc richard_snowpiercer pub_1200 RT

Prints will start shipping Saturday, November 28th and for those who already purchased them, you’re in for something special.  The metallic inks on this piece are subtle and a little tough to capture on camera, but when you see this print from various angles you’ll find it tough to miss how great the metallic inks actually are on it.  As for the rest of the print, it’s just as stellar.  Below are some close-up shots of the art.

Under license from The Weinstein Company via their sister label Radius-TWC, FAMP Art will release Alice’s print at this year’s New York Comic Con at the Grey Matter Art booth #2366 from October 8th to October 10th.  Super excited to be sharing the space with them. An image of the NYCC map can be found at the bottom of the email.

Alice’s Snowpiercer poster is a 24”x18” archival giclee print on Somerset Velvet fine art paper. Priced at $50, it is a hand numbered edition of 150 pieces.  There will be no limit on the amount you can purchase of this print.

The poster will go on sale on October 8th when the convention floor opens and will be sold until closing of the con on the 10th.  We’ll have a few of our other posters there and expect to find free stickers and a free show card for our first gallery show at the booth as well.  Make sure to come say hi.
